How important is the well-being of your dog to you?
How do you put a bandage on a dog?
Do you know what to do in case of a heart attack?
Happy Dog Country Club organizes a First Aid for Dogs course several times a year.
The most common reasons for first aid in dogs will be treated, such as cardiac massage, mouth-to-nose resuscitation and applying a simple pressure bandage to various places on a dog's body.
Because you are taught the basic knowledge, it is possible for you to provide this first aid, after which you can decide whether or not to go to a veterinarian.
Sometimes an accident can easily be resolved by yourself. This not only cuts down on your expenses for veterinary costs, for example, but it also saves a dog the stress of having to go and/or stay at a vet.
Usually things happen outside a vet's regular opening hours and a double rate is charged afterwards. Many dogs do not find a veterinary practice a nice environment and the reason differs per dog.
A veterinarian can then concentrate more on those cases where a veterinarian is necessary instead of minor interventions that can be resolved by yourself.
