The few times we breed, the female and male have been strictly selected on the basis of the requirements for the reason to breed or, in our case for work.
We therefore assume that the parent animals have been declared completely healthy and have been provided with an official Embark test.
In addition, a breeder takes full responsibility for the entire litter. Not only the sale of the puppies but also the control after the puppies have found a new owner. In the worst case, take the puppies back if the new owner cannot take care of this.
Without a good valid reason, breeding just any dog is not a valid reason for us.
Don't dump a pregnant female or the puppies on the street!!!!
A female and her puppies need you for care!!!!
ASK FOR HELP !!!
The information on our website is not a guide to dog breeding but only a guide for when your female has been mated and you have not been able to prepare sufficiently as a good breeder should do.
We would also like to provide you with general information so that you can take care of yourself.
Maintenance is quite a challenge and you could use a lot of help with it.
There are many foundations in Aruba that want to help you with this. Preferably in your own home.
The foundations have saved so many dogs of the streets that they are becoming overcrowded.
There are many options to get in touch. If you cannot find the correct information, please contact Happy Dog Country Club.
We are not a shelter for street dogs. This has to do with the diseases they can carry and the danger to the dogs in our day care.
In some cases we are able to temporarily accommodate a litter of puppies and provide them with good care so that they can be adopted at the right age.
The condition is that the puppies are 100% healthy and certified by a veterinarian.
We feed them multiple times a day, weigh them every day, socialize them with various everyday things in and around the house and evaluate their behavior.
Nutrition plan by age:
- till they are 5 weeks we feed them 6 times a day every 3 hours.
- 6 weeks we feed them 5 times a day every 4 hours.
- 7 weeks we feed them 4 times a day every 5 hours.
- 8 weeks we feed them 4 times a day every 5 hours (the last feeding is less than the other 3 feedings).
By the time they fly out to their new home they are potty, crate, leash and swim / beach trained. They are used to get washed and socialized in different circumstances and used to our dogs.
We are happy to provide you with the most general information about maintaining a litter.
We do this per phase from birth to 12 weeks.
A puppy has a number of phases in life that are divided into age.
- The neonatal phase: 0 - 14 days of age
- The transition phase: 10 - 21 days of age
- The first socialization phase: 3 - 12 weeks of age
- The second socialization phase: 12 weeks to 6 months of age
Of course, if you do not trust something, contact your vet immediately and do not first ask Doctor Google or Doctor Facebook for information. This could save your puppy's life.
Everything went well at birth and now what?
- Did you feed the bitch extra during pregnancy?
- Does she have enough milk with the right nutritional value to help the puppies grow healthily?
- Does the bitch allow the puppies to drink?
- Do the puppies drink enough each time?
- Do you give the bitch extra food with high-quality nutrients?
- These are a few simple questions you should ask yourself once the puppies arrive.
- Does she clean the area and the puppies?
- Does the bitch encourage the puppies to pass their feces and drink?
To find out most of the answers to these questions, it is important that you keep the puppies and the bitch under good control.
Weigh the puppies at the same time every day, preferably before meals. It is best to do this when they wake up and are still drowsy.
When you keep track of this every day, you will see how much they grow each day and you can quickly take action if they do not gain anything or not enough. The bitch may not have sufficient nutrition or may not accept it.
In that case, you can supplement the puppies with extra nutritional supplements that are also contained in special puppy milk for puppies.
You can also give the bitch puppy food to boost milk production.
