A Brief puppy information

We would like to start by stating that we are not against breeding of dogs provided there is a very good reason for it, both male and female are tested and 100% healthy on all levels.
- One of the reasons may be to improve a breed according to the requirements of a official kennel club.
- Second reason could be breeding working dogs selected for their character, by which we mean patrol (police), SAR, detection or service dogs. A good well trained workingdog could safe lifes and is needed in many parts of the world.

But are you prepaird to all the risks of breeding and maybe loosing your female or a wole litter?

Pregnancy Complications

  • Dogs can suffer from difficult births (dystocia), which may require costly emergency C-sections.
  • Some breeds (like Bulldogs/short nose breeds) are particularly prone to birthing problems.

Genetic Disorders

  • Without proper genetic screening, breeders risk passing on hereditary diseases (hip dysplasia, heart issues, etc.).
  • Wrong inbreeding increases these risks even more.

Financial Risks

  • Vet Costs: Regular checkups, ultrasounds, C-sections, vaccinations, worming, and more add up quickly.
  • Unexpected Expenses: If a puppy or mom gets sick, emergency care can cost thousands.
  • Unsold Puppies: You might not find homes for all puppies, and keeping them can be expensive.

Emotional & Time Commitment

  • 24/7 Care: Newborn puppies need constant monitoring, feeding (sometimes by hand, 24/7 every 2 to 3 hours), and hygiene care.
  • Emotional Toll: Losing a puppy or seeing the mom struggle can be very distressing. This can even cours the dead of the other puppies.

When you want to take care of a few puppies just check the foundations on the island, im sure they are more then welcome to share some puppies with you to take care of. We work, train, educate all these workingdogs for 45 years and sometimes we can breed but only for the right reasons. We don't sell puppies. We train them for their new future.

Specially for members of Happy Dog Country Club we provide the basic information what to do and not to do in a normale situation, with a female that has been mated, when the puppies are born and the first weeks of their lives.

In addition to this information, we have described the situation what to do when a female cannot care for the puppies for whatever reason.
